The DAM WORLD Conference Series aims to be a forum for disseminating the latest scientific and technical developments and for discussing the current problems, challenges and solutions faced by dam engineering sector.

The first DAM WORLD Conference was held in Brazil in 2012. The next two events, in 2015 and 2018, held in Portugal and Brazil, respectively, were a great success. The Fourth International DAM WORLD Conference, originally planned to be held in Lisbon in 2020 as an in-person event was instead held in an Online Event – DAM WORLD Webinar, due to the Pandemic Crisis affecting all countries all over the world.

The National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC) will be hosting the Fifth International DAM WORLD Conference. In the tradition of the previous DAM WORLD Conferences, this event aims at bringing together from around the world researchers and professionals in the broad field of dam engineering, to review recent achievements in the advancement of knowledge and understanding in the area, share the latest developments, and address the challenges of the present and the future.
