2024 the 9th International Conference on Distance Education and Learning will be held in Guangzhou, China during June 14-17, 2024. Previous ICDEL conferences were held at HongKong (2014), Dubai, UAE (2015), Shanghai, China (2019 & 2021) and Beijing, China (2020, 2022, 2023). ICDEL 2024 is sponsored and hosted by South China Normal University, China.

Distance education has been changing its nature and gaining momentum in the past couple of decades, under the influence of ICT and learning sciences’ developments, up to become an established part of the current education world. The engine of this growth has been the technological development of diverse, two-way communication channels apt to support interaction and joint work in different ways, effectively removing time and place constraints. Distance education is prone to further evolution and diffusion, following the changes of technology and culture. We can expect, in particular: • More personalized and adaptive learning, allowing students to blend, at individual pace, varied resources distributed across settings and institutions; • Convergence of multiple technologies in a single device, creating a new level of functionality and interaction; • Development of more effective approaches and regulations for accreditation; • Attempts towards courses’ automation.

All submitted conference papers will be blind peer-reviewed by around 2-3 competent reviewers. After a careful reviewing process, accepted and presented papers will be published in ICDEL 2024 Conference Proceedings by ACM with ISBN 979-8-4007-1685-0. which will be archived in the ACM Digital Library and indexed by Ei Compendex, Scopus, etc.
